There are times when drawing specifications call for the use of either superscripts or subscripts, and mastering this function in AutoCAD is actually quite simple. To add a subscript, begin by placing the “^ “ after the letter or number (also with a space after) and then simply follow the steps as presented below:
A good example is the classic equation E=MC²
1. First, use MText and type “E=MC2^ “ (with a space at the end)
2. Next, use your mouse to highlight the “2^ “ (including the space)
3. Once highlighted, select the “stack” button (b/a) on your tool bar.
4. The program will automatically create the desired end result – E=MC²
